I went to a workshop at Carol Leigh's Hill Creek Fiber Studio this past weekend.
I was having a terrible time with diagonal lines on my mini loom, and the books
I had just weren't helping, so off to learn from a real person.
She was very much into letting the yarn speak, and this is what my yarn told me.
Much of the design was inspired by my continued lack of understanding of the diagonal
lines. The arrowhead was my first attempt at a diamond, but wasn't right, so morphed
into an arrowhead. The side points were my second attempt, but were too flat, so I just
repeated for symmetry. I kept trying, and eventually mastered it with the arrow's fletching.
Here is more information about the great weekend we had creating these rugs with Carol.
