| This was a project I decided to do for my favorite purveyors of hand dyed Tencel - Just Our Yarn or JOY. I promised them an inkle band, but I couldn't settle for just a simple inkle, so I decided to make this. The lettering is from Linda Hendrickson's "Please Weave a Message", but the tablet and yarn ball I designed. This project was fraught with problems. First I had to find the color repeat so I could match the colors to create a warp painted effect. Variegated yarns don't work well in tabletweaving because the color changes across four threads twining just turns into mud, hence the need to find the color repeat and line up the colors. Then I decided to use warp weights, but originally they weren't heavy enough, and the width of the band kept changing. Yuck! So unwove, reset weights, rewove. I did finish it before seeing them at Midwest in Grinnell and gave it to them, and they did seem to enjoy it, so mission accomplished.
